The UAE’s first government-owned electric vehicle charging network, UAEV, has announced the introduction of standardized EV charging tariffs effective January 2025. The new rates will be AED 1.2 per kWh (plus VAT) for DC charging and AED 0.70 per kWh for AC charging. This initiative supports the sustainability of the charging network and aims to expand its coverage across the UAE.

A Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability

Eng. Sharif Al Olama, Chairman of UAEV, highlighted that the introduction of the unified tariff and innovative solutions, such as the mobile application, represents a pivotal step in achieving sustainable mobility in the UAE. He emphasized the company’s dedication to adopting advanced technologies to enhance the EV user experience while aligning with the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 strategy.

    Towards a Sustainable Future

The new tariff reflects UAEV’s commitment to providing high-quality services and ensuring equitable access to the network. The launch of the mobile app offers features like station search and real-time status updates, further enriching the experience of electric vehicle drivers.

    Strengthening EV Infrastructure

UAEV is working to enhance the country’s EV charging infrastructure by expanding its network to 1,000 charging stations across urban centers and highways by 2030, supporting the UAE’s vision of sustainable transportation.
