The World Bank has approved a $500 million loan for Morocco, aiming to improve the protection of vulnerable populations from health and climate risks and expand the social protection system.
The International Financial Institution’s statement highlights that the funding will support government reform programs, particularly financing development policies for groups most affected by shocks, including the impact of COVID-19, drought, farmer losses, climate-related risks, inflation, and recent seismic events in the Al Hoceima region.
