Tesla, the American company owned by Elon Musk, has announced the recall of more than 77,000 vehicles from the “3” and “Y” models manufactured in China due to a software defect that may affect vehicle safety.
Recall Due to Software Issues
In an unusual move, the Chinese Market Regulatory Authority announced that Tesla would recall 77,650 vehicles. The reason for this is a malfunction in the tire pressure monitoring system, which may prevent information from being displayed when the vehicle is started. Tesla did not clarify whether the vehicles need to be returned for a refund.
Another Issue with Airbags
The company also revealed that it would recall an additional 63 vehicles from the “S” and “X” models in China due to a defect in the driver’s front airbag, which may pose an additional risk to passengers in the event of a collision.
Previous Recalls in the United States
In another development, Tesla had previously recalled approximately 694,000 vehicles in the United States due to the same issue related to tire pressure monitoring, threatening driver safety. This raises the total number of recalled vehicles to massive figures, exceeding 1.8 million vehicles in the third quarter of 2024.
Cybertruck Also in the Recall Circle
Additionally, Tesla recalled 2,400 units of the Cybertruck in November due to a defect in a component that may cause power loss, increasing the likelihood of an accident. This is the sixth time the company has recalled Cybertrucks this year.
Tesla and the Recall Crisis
Tesla continues to face a series of recalls due to vehicle issues, raising questions about safety measures in its electric cars.
