Football clubs worldwide spent a record-breaking $888.1 million on agents’ services in 2023, marking a substantial 42.5% increase from the $623.2 million spent in 2022.

The majority of these expenditures, $280 million, were attributed to English clubs. Saudi Arabia, although not investing in agents for its club sales, secured the second position in spending on employed agents within clubs, totaling $86 million.

Notably, Korea dominated the agent-assisted sales, claiming a significant 31.6% share.

For the first time in history, women’s football clubs surpassed the million-dollar mark in agent services, reaching a total of $1.4 million. Agents played a role in 125 transfer transactions, setting another record with a 20% increase from 2022.

This underscores the ever-growing financial landscape of football, with agents playing a pivotal role in facilitating player transfers and shaping the global football market.
