In a move that intensifies the competition in artificial intelligence, Elon Musk announced via the platform “X” (formerly known as Twitter) the launch of the new chatbot “Grok 3” by his startup “xAI.” Musk described this model as “the smartest AI chatbot on Earth,” according to Reuters.
The unveiling of “Grok 3” is scheduled for a demo next Tuesday at 7:00 AM Mecca time. Musk highlighted that the new model possesses advanced reasoning capabilities, outperforming all existing AI models in preliminary tests.
Musk added that “Grok 3” is trained on synthetic data, enabling it to analyze errors and revisit data to achieve logical consistency. This launch comes at a time when the AI industry is witnessing fierce competition, with the emergence of companies like China’s “DeepSeek” and policy changes at “OpenAI” under Sam Altman’s leadership.
It is worth noting that Elon Musk was one of the co-founders of OpenAI in 2015 but left the company in 2019 due to disagreements with Sam Altman. In 2023, Musk founded “xAI” to strengthen his position in the field of advanced technology.
Despite his significant contributions to AI development, Musk has previously expressed concerns about the potential threats AI could pose to humanity. In an open letter two years ago, he called on researchers and AI experts to pause the development of large language models to assess their risks and establish regulatory frameworks.
