Egypt’s telecom companies have announced their readiness to roll out eSIM technology, pending the green light from the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA). The eSIMs will be available across company branches nationwide, with prices set at EGP 270 for converting traditional SIMs and EGP 330 for new eSIMs, according to a report by Al-Arabiya TV.
Enhanced Features and Flexibility
The eSIM technology enables users to activate up to 8 numbers on a single device, while seamlessly operating one active number at a time. Embedded directly into the hardware of smartphones and smart devices, this innovation enhances usability and connectivity.
A Leap Toward Digital Transformation
The adoption of eSIMs marks a significant step toward supporting Internet of Things (IoT) applications and strengthening Egypt’s digital infrastructure. Telecom companies expect this initiative to improve user experiences and boost service efficiency, aligning with global advancements in the telecom sector.
