Abu Dhabi, December 11, 2024 – The Chinese Ministry of Commerce hosted a promotional event titled “Invest in China” at the Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi. The gathering, aimed at strengthening ties with the Middle East, was attended by prominent officials including Vice Minister of Commerce Ling Ji and China’s Ambassador to the UAE, Zhang Yiming.
Celebrating Growth in Chinese Technology and Investments
The event highlighted China’s significant advancements in information technology and artificial intelligence (AI), sectors where the nation has established itself as a global leader. In addition, it underscored the growing scale of Chinese investments in the Arab region, which totaled a remarkable $276.2 billion in 2023.
UAE: A Strategic Partner for China in the Middle East
Vice Minister Ling Ji emphasized the UAE’s pivotal role as a strategic bridge connecting China with Middle Eastern nations. He noted that trade between the UAE and China reached $74.5 billion in the first nine months of 2024 alone, with projections indicating that it could surpass $100 billion by year-end.
