His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Asir Region and Chairman of the Development Authority, inaugurated the second industrial city in Asir, covering an expansive area of 17.3 million square meters. This initiative responds to the growing demand for industrial investment in the region. The event was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef, CEO of the Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON), Eng. Majid bin Rafid Al-Arqoubi, and the Acting CEO of the Asir Development Authority, Eng. Hashem Al-Dibagh.
The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources expressed pride in adding a new industrial city to the Asir region, enhancing the growth and development of the national industry in alignment with the Vision 2030 programs and the national strategy for industry.
He highlighted the new city as a model of success, woven in the fabric of our nation’s great capabilities, aiming for distinctive competitiveness in the industrial and mining sectors. The city is envisioned to create an attractive investment climate for various economic activities.
Established in strategic partnership with the region’s development authority, the second industrial city in Asir aligns with major projects like “Qummam Al-Soudah,” “Ardara,” and the new international airport. This venture falls under the initiatives assigned to MODON in the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP), contributing to the national industry’s empowerment and increasing local content.
