In a step to strengthen international cooperation in energy and climate action, the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mining of Eastern Uruguay. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025.
Future Cooperation Between the UAE and Uruguay
The memorandum aims to exchange expertise and knowledge between the two parties, focusing on sharing studies and information in the fields of renewable energy and climate action. Additionally, the two sides will collaborate in organizing high-level workshops and meetings to discuss relevant issues and consult on ways to enhance the use of clean energy.

Nawal Al-Hanaei, Director of the Future Energy Department at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, confirmed that this partnership represents a significant step towards supporting the transition to clean and renewable energy. She added that cooperation between the two countries will contribute to knowledge exchange on improving the energy mix, aligning with their efforts to enhance sustainability and reduce the impacts of climate change.

Al-Hanaei noted that this agreement opens new horizons for cooperation in renewable energy and will contribute to building strategic relationships that achieve the mutual interests of both countries.
