As part of its efforts to enhance energy sustainability, Kuwait Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy signed two contracts on December 28, 2024, valued at 238 million Kuwaiti Dinars (approximately $772.61 million). These investments aim to improve electricity network efficiency and expand capacity to meet growing demand.

Kuwait Enhancing Electricity and Water Infrastructure

The first contract involves maintenance and upgrades for power stations, focusing on boosting the capacity of gas and steam turbine units for electricity generation. These technical enhancements are expected to improve the efficiency of the national grid.

The second contract is dedicated to upgrading the steam boilers at Doha West Power and Water Desalination Plant. These improvements will enhance production efficiency and reduce energy waste.

    Expected Improvements in Infrastructure

The contracts are anticipated to enhance service quality for residents and bolster the electricity sector’s capacity to accommodate population and economic growth.
